STALL HOLDER SPOTLIGHT: Kakelake

kakelake

Kakelake (it’s German for cockroach) has been distributing local and international zines and small press around Auckland for a few years now, whenever the time, the place and the mood are right. We’ve got a range of zines and books to bring along on Saturday – all some kind of queer and some kind of awesome. Keep an eye out for some free stuff fresh off the photocopier just for Everything and Everyone.

We’re stoked about having Mellow Yellow stall for us this year, just in time for the release of Issue Six of their nominal zine. Mellow Yellow are dedicated to radical social change from a section of the “Asian” tau iwi population in Aotearoa. They work towards  opening up a space in which Asian feminists in Aotearoa can speak and communicate our specific and diverse experiences, to counter the dominant white feminisms and left-wing politics, to challenge colonialism, racism, sexism and all forms of unjust social hierarchy. To engage in decolonisation, to create understanding between all oppressed people, to support each other, to inspire solidarity and organise collectively for a better world.
